COMMISSIONER OF POLICE PARTICIPATES IN REGIONAL SECURITY CONFERENCE IN RÉUNION

The Commissioner of Police, Mr. Godfra Hermitte, is representing the Republic of Seychelles at the Conference of Chiefs of Police of the Southern Indian Ocean, being held in Saint-Denis, Réunion, from 21st to 22nd April 2026.
 
The high-level forum brings together heads of law enforcement agencies from across the region to reinforce cooperation and address common security challenges, with particular focus on the fight against narcotics trafficking. Discussions are centred on the exchange of best practices, the strengthening of operational coordination, and the development of joint and targeted strategies to effectively counter transnational drug trafficking networks.
 
Mr. Hermitte’s participation reaffirms Seychelles’ strong commitment to regional collaboration and collective action in combating transnational crime, as well as its continued dedication to safeguarding public safety and security.
 
The Commissioner is accompanied by Chief Superintendent Jemmy Bouzin and the Director of the National Information Sharing and Coordination Centre (NISCC), Major Ivel Ernesta.
